Being Me-A Pride Fireside Chat



23rd June 2022, Kolkata: WICCI West Bengal Council of Art Leadership had organized a session based on the theme “Being Me-A Pride Fireside Chat”, an event to celebrate the Pride Spirit.  The event was a fireside chat with Reena Dewan, President of West Bengal Arts Council, WICCI, and Director of KCC, and Paromita Ghosh, Vice President of WBALC and Director of Candid Communication in conversation with Sudarshan Chakraborty, dancer and Choreographer, Indroneel Mukherjee, Renowned Designer, and Rukshana Kapadia, Food Writer and F&B Consultant, today to celebrate the pride month.
Ramanjit Kaur, the National Vice President of WICCI and WBALC joined the event as a Guest of Honor on this day!
West Bengal Council of Art Leadership initiated this special event to celebrate the Pride spirit while empowering the women’s art community. WICCI West Bengal Council Art Leadership had taken an endeavor to support the LGBTQ Community of West Bengal. Working with the LGBTQ community is one of the greatest and most exciting elements as this is an honor to respect the group. Inclusion, embracing diversity, and honoring equality are some of its core values and WICCI is grateful for their support.
While addressing the Media Reena Dewan, President, West Bengal Arts Council, WICCI, and Director of KCC said, “WICCI West Bengal Council Art Leadership had taken an endeavor to support the LGBTQ Community of West Bengal. Highlighting what it means to be a Queer through ‘Being Me’ is important and essential to creating an inclusive world. Inclusion, embracing diversity and honoring equality are our core values and WICCI WBALC wants to create a safe space for everyone.”
Speaking on the occasion Paromita Ghosh, Vice President of WBALC and Director of Candid Communication said, “It takes no compromise to give people rights… it takes no money to respect the individual. It takes no political deal to give people freedom. It takes no survey to remove repression” … In the words of Harvey Milk added by Paromita Ghosh.
