“This year marks the 75th year of independence. We wanted to create something new this Independence day and thus we came up with the idea of the song. Vandematram is an ode to our motherland. We have tried to keep the same essence in our song at the same time we have tried to highlight the perspective of our mothers. The original song Vandemataram is representing our motherland and our composition Tumi Maa is representing our mothers in flesh and blood. We have tried to blend both of them in our song. The song also has a rap which similarly represents both the mothers.” says singer and lyricist Gourab Sarkar.

The video showcases several beautiful locations of north and south Kolkata. The video beautifully features all the singers with heartwarming visuals of mothers from different backgrounds in Kolkata. The song also features Kolkata’s popular model Bilkis Parveen. The splendid visuals and the melody make this music video a distinctive experience for all!
