JIS College becomes champion for second time in fourth edition of Smart India Hackathon

Anando Sangbad Live : Guru Nanak Institute of Technology under JIS College of Engineering won the Champion’s title in the 4th Edition of Smart India Hackathon 2020, Software Edition, SIH-2020 Initiated by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt.of India.
Smart India Hackathon 2020 is a digital product development competition involving all technological institutes in India with a reach of approximately 2,50,000 Engineering and Technology college students all across India. This competition challenges students to think out of the box and innovate on smart applications development that will help address major real time problems in our country.
SIH 2020, Grand Finale was inaugurated by Hon’ble HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Hon’ble Minister of State Sanjay Dhotre in the presence of Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE; Amit Khare, Secretary, MHRD, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Member Secretary, AICTE and eminent stalwarts from the industry. The GNIT Students also got the opportunity to do a live interaction Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

Guru Nanak Institute of Technology has secured its place among 2,50,000 Engineering Colleges across India. The Grand Finale was held in August through digital platform. This is the second time that they have been awarded by Rs, 1, 00,000 (One Lakh only) from MHRD, Govt. of India like previous year.
