Demonstrating the universality of Yoga, The Hon’ble Consul General of People’s Republic of China – H.E. Mr. Zha Liyou, Hon’ble Consul General of Australia – H.E. Ms Rowan Ainsworth and Hon’ble Consul General of Nepal – H.E. Mr. Eshor Raj Poudel were the Chief Guests to event while other dignitaries included Mr. Rishabh C Kothari – President, MCCI and actress Debjani Chatterjee. The event encouraged participation from all sections of the society irrespective of age, gender, race, nationality or other any other identity and was open to all. Over 200 participants joined the event at the Heartfulness Meditation Centre and derived benefits of the Heartfulness’ way of Yoga and Meditation. This was followed by an insightful session by the Chief Guests as they shared their thoughts on Yoga and the Heartfulness Meditation.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Kamlesh Patel aka ‘Daaji’ – Guide of Heartfulness said, “When we say ‘Yoga for Unity’ it is to remind each of us that yoga is not merely a fitness regime as most people now have taken it to be. Yoga is to bring integrity of body, heart, mind and soul. A unity of all these spheres lead to holistic wellness. This World Yoga Day, we would like to sensitise as many people as possible on the benefits of Heartfulness’s way of meditation through Pranahuti. The technique has existed for millennia practised by our great rishis as well. However, the practise was lost but expounded and reinstated again by Lalaji of Fatehgadh. It is the easiest way to find the inner light within, there is no rocket science involved. Today millions of people around the world have adopted the practise and how found how their lives have become easier – with a calmer mind and bringing the balance within. As Lalaji rightly said, each household and each family must adopt meditation as a way of life to make the world more peaceful and it is more relevant in today’s times.”

Shri Rishabh Kothari, President – MCCI said, “This is an opportune time to connect with the practitioners and also enlighten the others on the benefits of Yoga. World Yoga Day goes to show how the ancient Indian yogic practise has gone outside India and been take up by many in recent times. This is as true and important for Businessmen and Professionals as any other and hence this initiative by MCCI to commemorate World Yoga Day. We are especially honoured to have the Hon’ble Consul Generals of France, Australia, Nepal and China and share their thoughts with us on their perception of this ancient wisdom of India.”
