Biryani by Kilo reaches milestone of 100 outlets in India, announces an all-woman outlet in Kolkata

Kolkata, 15th September_2022: Biryani by Kilo, India’s Biggest & Most loved biryani and kebab chain, has achieved a milestone with its 100th outlet in one of India’s most culturally rich and diverse city, Kolkata. And being the 100th Store Launch isn’t it’s only achievement, the outlet located at Behala-Kolkata is an all-woman outlet – from the minute you enter to the last morsel you polish away; all roles are handled by women employees. Biryani by Kilo has employed around 18+ women to handle the overall operations of outlet including kitchen, Dine-in & delivery operations. The crew helming this restaurant have been trained as per FSSAI guidelines on all the necessary safety, hygiene and other restaurant procedures. The company has four outlets in Kolkata and this is third dine-in restaurant in the city’s Behala region. Another point to note about this launch, that made it extra special for BBK, Mimi Chakraborty, MP and Indian celebrity, attended the event and graced us and our all-women crew with her presence.

The brand processes anywhere between four and five million orders in a year currently, with an average order value of INR 725.

Swiggy’s annual report on the country’s food ordering, says that Indians ordered an average of 115 Biryanis per minute, and the dish has remained on top of the charts for quite a few years now. Also, as per Technopak study, the Biryani market is $4 billion out of $70-$80 billion F&B market overall, which makes it the biggest category in F&B.
